Any day Fishing is a good day, Landing a whopper just makes it a little better DAY.

Believe

Here are some tid-bits of what I believe.

I Believe

Your thoughts become reality.
Courage is Being scared to death and saddling up anyway.
You must be able to laugh at yourself first, if you want to laugh last.
Any day Fishing is a good day, Landing a whopper just makes it a little better.
Friendship is earned and Love is a choice.
Cash is better than credit.
Success in life is determined by far greater things than cash.
You teach people how to treat you.
Kids are just short People.
You can either be Right or you can be Happy.
Some people have their own definition of the TRUTH.
When you know it all, you are the only one that does.
Memories are one of the greatest Gifts you can either Give or Receive.
We forget our blessings way to often.
We believe Who, What, Where, When and How We Want to.
You decide the WHY.

I believe in the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy and of course Santa Claus?

When you -Think you create,
When you -Create you feel
When you -Feel you believe
When you -Believe you achieve
When you -Achieve you are alive
When you are -Alive you can LIVE.

Black Friday

Another black Friday has come and gone. This day comes right after the day we are supposed to be thankful for what we have. We seem to have a funny way of being thankful, standing in line waiting for the stores to open so we can save a few bucks. Save compared to what? The mayhem, rudeness and the trampling of store clerks to death is not a very good way for us to show our thanks. All to save a dollar that more than likely is borrowed, it isn't even yours.

I understand looking for good deals, but not at the expense of others. We wonder why the economy is in the shape it is in? We look for the cheapest most inexpensive things to buy and wait for them to go on sale. We do this for a variety of reasons but mainly because we have alot less money and the reason we have alot less money is we shop like it is Black Friday everyday. When we do this our own manufacturing jobs leave America for the sake of survival.

We buy things for bottom dollar and expect to get paid top wages. To off set this difference we go get credit and then all of a sudden we can buy alot more cheap stuff. We tend to focus on the price of things instead of the cost. What good is a cheap car if it is always at the fix it shop.

Here is an example of what thing's cost. You shop for and buy everything you can at the best possible Price saving your self a few dollars here and there. Then one of your community organizations ( school, ball team, etc....) needs to raise some money. When you reach out to your local merchants for help you find they can't help. Why? Because YOU found a better deal elsewhere. You may buy things at a good price but what do they cost you? We haven't even talked about lead based paint on toys or Tainted milk.

When you purchase things think of the benefits beyond the price. The price of an item is determined at the time of purchase. The cost of an item can last a generation.

It has been said
" A Good Deal to the consumer is what they Percieve it to be".

Our economy and the way we do business is in a massive transition it will never be like it use to be. We all need to do things different than we use to. If we continue to Shop like it is Black Friday and borrow money to do it the cost is not worth the price.

A New Day

We are all looking for the magic formula to make everything better in our lives. I do believe a formula exists, however it is not magic. You have probably heard of a feller by the name of Tiger Woods. He has become one of the most dominant golfers of our time. How do you think he got to be so good? Was there a magic pill, potion, e-book or the greatest gadget since sliced bread? The answer is NO. Tiger Woods became successful in the only way possible. He always worked to be better today then he was yesterday. Simply put, he worked on Him.

As a society we tend to worry about the doom and gloom in our lives. We tend to dwell on our set backs instead of our triumphs. I wish we could forget about our troubles as fast as we forget about our blessings. We worry about our competition when in fact our greatest foe is ourselves. If you want to be better than the masses, make yourself better, work on you.

I read an article about Michael Phelps that made me look at things in a different way. The article was talking about his success and how he trained. He focused on how fast he wanted to swim. He wrote down the times he wanted to achieve and worked to achieve them. Most of us know what he accomplished with 8 gold medals, although he did not reach all the times he set for himself. After all of the success he has had he still works to achieve the original goal he set for himself. He works to be a better Michael Phelps, instead of just being better than the so called competition. The swimmer next to him is not his competition, Michael Phelps is.

There is a book you must read that if nothing else will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up. It was written in the early 1900's. I just read it. WOW! The title is "The Science of Getting Rich" by Wallace Wattles. If you want things to get better in your life? Read the book. It won't take long. Get ready for a new day.

Everything you need to be successful in life is at your finger tips. The power to change is already inside you.

Here is a website that will wake you up.

Proposition 8 (california)

The election is over and as usual some people are less than happy with the results. I would imagine most of the people crying foul are the same ones who chose to stay home on election day. Bet you vote next time.

Here is my view of Proposition 8 ( gay marriage).

I have been married to the same woman for 20 + years, this to me is the definition of marriage, the union of a man and a woman till death do us part.

The gay community is up in arms over the ban on same sex marriage and they should be. In the history of the United States there is yet to be a ban that has had real measurable success. Bans tend to cause up evil and resentment most of the time. Prohibition and drug laws are perfect examples of what does not work. I believe this will be the same. This will not stop just because there is a ban in place. If nothing else it will bring more awareness.

I would like to offer a strategy to the gay community.
Quit trying to be like main stream America. Your are Not just like everyone else, you have your own community of like minded people. Most of main stream America would love to have their own community of like minded individuals to share life with. Be thankful you have what you have and embrace it. You could for example instead of calling it marriage call it something else. Let the main stream keep the traditional meaning of marriage for their own and create your own traditional meaning. You have every right to be with whom ever you choose, the problem is in the definition of marriage, not the meaning. Create your own definition.

When ever you want to fight it is easy to find an opponent. The more you fight the bigger the war. The bigger the war the less you remember what you were fighting about in the first place, which in this case is acceptance.

To those of you who were offended and singled out by this ban and feeling that your rights have been trampled on. Your gay rights should be just that gay rights. Remember a right is something that is earned based upon it's own set of principals not the principals of others beliefs.

To the people in support of (Proposition 8).
When ever you delegate the rights of other people you are simply diminishing your own rights. What gives you the right to tell others who they can spend the rest of their lives with. It won't be long before someone is telling you how to live your life. Don't believe me? It was OK for you to tell others how to live. Now your right to choose is gone.

We all have the right to choose. We have soldiers dying because we choose freedom! When we feel the need to choose the rights of others we are giving away our own FREEDOM. Freedom has to high a price to simply give away.

Election

Since this is my first writing here I will attempt to keep it short and sweet, and see what kind of reviews I get . Please feel free to leave comments.

It is election season and you have to think about what you are going to do.

The first choice is obvious VOTE. You only have one so you better make it count. Not only is this a privilege it is your duty as a UNITED STATES citizen. Take some ownership and pride in the election process, get involved. Keep this in mind, there are soldiers in harms way, right now fighting to insure that you have something to VOTE for.

The other choice you have is to simply do nothing. Far to many Americans choose not to VOTE. The funny thing is you can tell if a person has voted or not. The do nothing person is the one complaining. If you choose to do nothing you do not have the right to complain. People that do vote, get things done.

I would like to share a story a friend of mine told me a few years back. I was 18 and trying to decide if it was worth the hassle to take the time to vote, let alone who I would vote for. This made it easy to decide.

A very stanch conservative was having a conversation with his eldest daughter who at the time was a junior in college. The daughter was explaining to her father how hard it was to maintain a 4.0 grade average. That she had no social life not even a boyfriend. All of her time was spent studying and working her part time job and cleaning up after her roommate. She started complaining that the government should do more to help people, it needs to be easier.

Dad asks about the room mate.

She only has a 2.0 grade average.
Always at community events school functions (would not miss one).
A different date every night of the week.
Daddy sends her money ( no job).
No time to pick up after her self. ( Busy helping everyone else).

The daughter is very upset with her room mate for her lack of effort, and at the same time concerned she will not graduate. The government should do more to help her room mate.

Dad's answer.
You do not need the government to fix this you can do it your self. Since you have a 4.0 and your room mate only has a 2.0, simply GIVE her one of your grade points and it will all be even.

Daughter's response.
I have worked my tail off to achieve that 4.0. Why should I just give ???????????

Dad
End of lesson. Now go VOTE.
